Mindfulness Workshops

Every day we take an astonishing 20,000 breaths, but despite this being an innate part of consciousness very few of us breathe as efficiently as we could. Some people regularly hold their breath when they are stressed or anxious, while others breathe shallowly. This has a direct impact on your physical health and your mental well being.

In this workshop you will learn how to make every breath count. You will discover why breathing is so important to the health of your body and in changing how you feel. Perhaps you have a respiratory condition, GI complaint or just want to boost your overall wellness. You will learn a range of different breathing exercises to strengthen your lungs, lower blood pressure and bring about inner calm.

We will also revisit some familiar Pilates exercises mindfully; moving much more slowly with the breath to release tension, observe how we feel and be present in the moment. Coordinating breath with movement will help lower stress leaving you feeling refreshed and relaxed. This workshop will show you how versatile Pilates is and how moving slowly and without judgement can help you wind down after a long day.

These workshops are suitable for those who have never done Pilates before as well as those who are very experienced. Maximum 10 participants.
